Overview   The idea of cryptocurrency/virtual currency was coined as far back as the 1980s, however it did not become a more tangible concept until 1996, when E-Gold was introduced to the public by Douglas Jackson. In the wake of this initiative, several other types of virtual currency were brought to the public’s attention, including Webmoney, Liberty Reserve, Perfect Money and others. Some believe that there is no place for virtual currency in the current transaction environment, however the fast growth rate and strong performance of Bitcoin, which was introduced in 2009, has changed the way that many view cryptocurrencies....
